Yonglun Luo

Yonglun Luo has a PhD in Biomedicine from Aarhus University and has been leading the DREAM independent research group since 2014. DREAM focuses on developing and applying precision genome editing technologies in genetically tailoring human and porcine fibroblasts, stem cells and large animal models for studying regenerative medicine and human diseases. In the field of CRISPR gene editing, Luo’s group has contributed various sophisticated improvements, such as a fluorescent reporter system, expression systems, recombinant Cas9 proteins, delivery tools, and in silico design methods, which can be used for both validation of gRNA efficiency and enrichment of cells carrying desired mutations. Together with Birgitte Regenberg, he has co-developed a method for target DNA circularization that allows to model any possible circular DNA in any desired genetic background.
